People who have never been to a car show often wonder why there are car shows and why they are so popular. The answer is simple: cars, cars, and cars. It gives both enthusiasts and those with a budding interest a chance to see some of the most amazing, best looking, customized, classic, and rarest cars in the world, up close and personal.

Proud owners are always around to answer questions and talk about their passion for their cars. Many people will attend the upcoming car shows just to satisfy their curiosity. But they will leave with excitement they never felt before. Don’t  be surprised if you run into them again and again at the next shows. The car show bug is highly contagious!

2021 Upcoming Car Shows

The  year 2020 was a disaster for car enthusiasts with COVID-19 canceling everyone’s hopes for an exciting year of shows demonstrating the beauty, power, and performance of some of the world’s greatest automobiles. While 2021 was not looking much better initially, things have finally turned around. The upcoming car shows in the second half of 2021 promise to be one of the most exciting times for these public exhibitions.

The number of upcoming car shows for the second half of 2021 is quite large. So, whether your interest is in hot rod power tours, classic car shows, muscle car shows, or classic motor shows, you will find plenty of events this year to feed your fascination.

Upcoming Car Shows: Hot Rod Power Tour 2021

Now  celebrating 27 years of hot rods, the 2021 Hot Rod Power Tour will take place August 23 - 27 in the Midwest. It will begin in Ohio and make its way to Illinois over the course of the week. This year’s show is scheduled to be bigger and better than any in the past! The tour’s schedule is:

  • Monday, August 23 - Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk, Ohio
  • Tuesday, August 24 - Montgomery County Fairgrounds, Dayton, Ohio
  • Wednesday, August 25 - Lucas Oil Raceway, Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Thursday, August 26 - World Wide Technology Raceway, St. Louis, Missouri
  • Friday, August 27 - State Farm Center, Champaign, Illinois

Upcoming Car Shows: Classic Car Shows

Classic car events are back in full swing. Around the world, there is an average of more than one classic car show every single week from June through November. Upcoming car shows in the United States include the Classic Car & Motorcycle Show in Huntington Beach, CA, the Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show in Rockville, MD, and the Cool City Classic Car Cruise and Show in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. When you think of classic motor shows, excellent  shows can be found throughout the United States. However, those willing to travel overseas will find upcoming car shows just as exciting and feature some unusual automobiles. Classic car shows abound in the United Kingdom with shows featuring cars such as classic Aston Martins, Jaguars, and Ferraris. At many of these shows, “classics” go back to the 1920s. There is even a Festival of the Unexceptional which features classic cars like a 1978 Vauxhall Chevette and a 1977 Morris Marina Deluxe. While they may not be exceptional, they are certainly classics that are no longer seen on the roadways of Europe or the United States. Many  people wonder, “What exactly is a muscle car?” A muscle car is a 2-door American-made automobile that has been modified to give high-performance driving with a large displacement V-8 engine. While most popular in the 1960s and 1970s, muscle cars began in the 1940s when Oldsmobile managed to squeeze a V-8 engine into a car designed to hold a 6-cylinder. Although it’s certainly a debatable list, any list of the top muscle cars of all time should include:

Of course, at upcoming car shows, many of the cars on this list will be shown. In addition, the various muscle car shows taking place around the country will showcase many more of these beasts. The largest event, sponsored by the National Muscle Car Association (NMCA), occurs in September 2021 at the Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana. As this year marks the 20th anniversary of the NMCA’s annual event, their upcoming car show will feature their classic World Street Finals, a muscle car show, and a manufacturer’s midway.
